A Flying Thank You

I'm up in the air for a few hours now and will be home soon, I hope to post lots of new art on the blog over the next few weeks.

Just also wanted to say thank you to everyone for your ongoing support and patronage, I now have over 2000 followers on Twitter and we're pushing 5000 on the blog, I really appreciate it.

And last but not least, thank you for all of the Designer Toy Award nominations this year, everyone at 3A was pleasantly surprised by just how many categories we've been listed in. People want to know what we hope to win but in all honesty just being nominated is cool enough.

So thanks! Be back real soon.

Hello Master Lok

Master Lok, hard at work.

3A Studio Shots Thursday

Here is a selection of random shots taken at the 3A studio today. The first photo is a mini badbot. Photo number 2 is a poster for the Tian Kang event to be held this weekend in China. Photo number 3 Wwrp Heavy Bramble. Enjoy!

Dear IDW...

We have your CEO and are currently in the process of feeding him any number of exotic Asian dishes, if you want him back you know who to call. Ted Adams pays a visit to the 3A offices.

Edit: If you're on Twitter and want to get a look in at how comic books are printed then check out some of the visuals recently posted by Ted on his Twitter account: @therealtedadams

At the Printers: Part Two

We have discovered over the years that you can never know too much about printing and prepress, the more you know, the better the end product. Micromanaging though can be somewhat addictive, (not mentioning any names!), the art studio floor is currently littered with the large printer's proof sheets that originally did not pass muster.

At the Printers: Part One

When you first start out in your career it's all about finishing the book, getting the work done to the highest standard that you can and then handing it in. As time goes on though, producing a book becomes not just about achieving your work objectives, it also becomes about the process, (managing, enjoying and overseeing the whole process!) Ash has sent some pictures of what went on at the printers today. There are lots of pics so the post will be in two parts.
